There are over 400 slang terms for the vagina. They range from the light-hearted, almost complimentary terms as peach, cherry, fine china; to the crude and pejorative; kebab, axewound, sausage wallet.

I have taken these literal objects out of their usual context, wrapped up within the folds and undulations of bedding and placed them into the site of conjugal activity. Far from being the most intimate of domestic environments, it is also a place where women often experience the most vulnerability.
